Webinars for Parents, Family Members and Supporters of Newly Admitted U of T Students, St. George Campus

This is an annual webinar hosted by the Student Life Orientation and Transition Committee in June, July and August. All parents, family members, friends and other supporters of newly admitted U of T students are welcome to attend.

April

Transition Day for U of T Students with Disabilities

This is an annual event hosted by U of T’s Accessibility Services every April. Transition Day is an opportunity to learn about academic accommodations and how they are implemented at U of T. During this event, support services available to students, assessment processes and student transitions are discussed. Prospective, newly admitted and enrolled U of T students are welcome to attend, as well as their parents, family members, friends and other supporters, such as high school educators, guidance counsellors and community partners who work with students with disabilities. Financial Aid for First Generation Undergrad Students & Their Families and Friends 

In August, Mentorship and Peer Programs hosts a financial aid event for first generation students (students whose parents/guardians did not complete post-secondary education in Canada).  This event focuses on the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP), financial awards and financial counselling. Access & Inclusion welcomes parents, guardians and supporters to join U of T students at this event. Students may register via Folio. Accessibility Services Orientation

During the last week of August, a two-day Accessibility Services Orientation is offered. The Orientation is a transition program specifically designed for U of T students to provide a more in-depth overview of Accessibility Services, accommodations, and tips to prepare students for post-secondary learning, including an in-person campus tour, social opportunities, mock lectures, presentations from campus support services as well as lunch! Convocation & Virtual Ceremonies

U of T’s Office of Convocation invites family and friends to celebrate the significant milestones and remarkable achievements of students.
